Graphics Card Blues

I do not own the most expensive system ever but for just over a grand I would nevertheless not expect to have to reboot every time I engage my graphics card in any meaningful way.

It started with an inability to watch anything on YouTube. That problem was solved by switching off the graphics accelerator on Adobe Flash. Then it wouldn’t play an older direct x based game, fine uninstalled game. Now it just crashes on a whim.

My Nvidia Geforce GT 220 is a drunk driver on my internet highway, ready to crash at a moments notice and with no regard for others. Things are so bad I have almost considered going Mac. Though budget, an intense dislike of Jobs and distaste for fanboy kool-ade have prevented me going that far..though things could change!

Wow.. that is sad. Hopefully, you didn’t pay $1K for the card alone, or it’s under warranty. I would say to opt for a new card, if all else fails.

Just curious to see how you made out with your PC. If at all possible I would recommend a Mac. We have owned a bunch of PC’s and I will never go back. We have two MacBook Pros and have had no issues what so ever in the last 18 months. Can’t say that for the Toshiba laptops we owned in the past.
